Ganderbal: Chief Patron Jabbar Foundation and Former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar has expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to LG Manoj Sinha for his commendable efforts for rolling out the ‘Prime Minister’s Food Supplementation for Priority Households Scheme’ for Jammu Kashmir. Under the scheme, additional 10 kg of rice will be given to people in PHH category besides their free ration on subsidised rates.
In a statement issued here, Sheikh said that in a recent meeting with Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha he had raised this issue and he thanked LG administration for fullfilling this demand.
He said that this additional rice allocation is of great help to the people in these difficult times. He appreciated the efforts of the LG in ensuring that the PHH ration card holders get enough food at subsidized rates, on top of their free distribution of ration. He said that this move would help these people to meet their basic needs and thanked Sinha for understanding the plight of the poor people and providing them with this much-needed relief.
He further said that the provision of additional rice and free ration is crucial in ensuring that individuals and families struggling with poverty have access to basic necessities. It is a testament to your commitment to social welfare and your understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities, he said.
Sheikh Ishfaq said that by providing free and subsidised ration LG administration has not only addressed the immediate needs of the poor but also demonstrated a compassionate and inclusive approach towards uplifting the underprivileged. This gesture has undoubtedly made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and has brought tremendous relief during these challenging times, the statement added.
