Mir Showkat/Kulgam / District Police Kulgam is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard; Police party headed by SHO police station Qazigund during patrolling at *NaidCheck, Nassu Badragund* intercepted one suspicious person namely; *Mohd Hussain Ganie S/O Ghulam Rasool Ganie R/O NaidCheck Nassu Badragund* carrying a nylon bag, who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot.
He was chased and apprehended tactfully. After checking, officers present were able to recover *08 Kgs of Poppy Straw* like contraband substance.
Regarding this incident, a Case with *FIR No. 234/2023 U/S 8/15* of NDPS Act stands registered in *Police Station Qazigund* and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social activity in their neighborhood, so that timely action will be taken against the culprit.
