Ramban police arrested one infamous drug peddler Zareena Begum and recovered 465 grams of charas from her possession at Ramban.
On 9/6/2021 Police Station Ramban received an information that a habitual drug peddler namely Zareena Begum aged about 50 years was selling drugs at Gandha Nallah under the new bridge Kowbagh.
Acting swiftly on this a party headed by SHO Ramban inspector Pardeep Sharma swung into the action.
On seeing the police the accused drug peddler tried to flee from the spot towards, but after a hot chase was arrested by PSI Mamta and SPO Chanchla Devi near Shan Palace on national highway.
On her personal search before the concerned magistrate a charas like substance weighing around 465 grams was recovered from her possession.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused lady is a habitual drug peddler and has been active in the areas for a significant time period.
In this connection a case FIR NO 66/2021 under sections 8/20 NDPS ACT was registered at police station Ramban and investigation set into the motion.
The people of area hailed this rejuvenated on going war waged by Ramban police against the drugs abuse in the area.
